Finally on to the next project...3D printing a ring from Shapeways!
Model 2D Sketches
Because of how long I was sick and in hospital for this past week, I was a little behind on starting this project but I think I managed to come up with a couple neat ideas. I actually really liked the idea of a curly ring with a few layers and ended up deciding on the Octopus ring as the one that will be printed. What else likes to curl around? OCTOPUS! In my original design there was a small round loop at the end, but shapeways didn't like this and wanted it to be thicker, so I added a cute little "pearl" for it to hold and to add extra strength! It also looks super cute holding a little pearl like a precious treasure. I've also decided to have this cast in metal, so it will likely actually see the light of day and maybe be a special gift for someone for christmas.

POLISHED SILVER
Shapeways thinks there might still be a few issues with this one but I think I'm willing to take the risk. I think if i cast it in a strong enough metal I might be able to get away with it?
POLISHED GOLD STEEL
NATURAL SILVER
Looks like a natural metal will be best for this project, I am assuming the act of polishing may be too rough on thin areas.
