Reverse Engineering: Part 2

Reverse Engineering: Part 2
Gundam Model

This was actually a lot harder than I thought. I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the hollowed out pieces proper. I tried a number of different things before I managed to settle with what I did and I'm still not entirely sure that it will work out in the end. I am extremely sick AGAIN with Pneumonia so everything is 1000 times harder.

I also had problems with finishing the stand part. I couldn't get the thin line down the middle part right, so i left it and kept working on other parts. More failures. I used Pipe to create the basic shape but that was all I could figure out here.

This is the rendered model of the base, it still isn't finished yet but really shows how they fit together.

I started working on the head, making the basic shape and using Revolve to make the half round shape, then Offset a smaller version and Boolean Difference that from the main head piece because trying to use just Shell was causing clipping issues and making the nose part completely go through making a hole in the model instead of shelling around it? Not sure why.

In the end I finally ended up with a good Shell for a hollow head shape with all its parts going together properly, yay! The hard part was adding the pipes on the back for the connectors. Not really sure if I really need to model these but I will try my best!

Here i decided to see what the model would look like rendered and pieces put together with what i have so far, looks a little funny without his ears but still awesome!
